Frequently Asked Questions
Are lightweight car covers breathable enough to prevent moisture build-up?
Many lightweight covers use breathable weaves or PA coatings that repel water while allowing some vapor to escape. For short-term holiday storage, choose a cover with vents or a fabric designed to be breathable to reduce condensation risk. If you expect very wet conditions, add periodic airing.
Will a cover scratched my paint?
A properly fitting cover with soft inner fabric and minimal movement won’t scratch paint. Avoid covers with exposed metal hardware rubbing against surfaces; route straps under the car and use padding where metal might contact paint. Regularly remove grime before covering to prevent abrasive particles from rubbing.
How should I secure the cover against wind?
Use the cover’s built-in anchoring: elastic hems, underbody straps, wheel loops and buckles. For extra security in windy areas add an underbody strap or cable lock (routed so it won’t rub painted surfaces). Reflective straps can also help with night visibility if the cover is left on public streets.
